I can not tell you what a relief it is to see Brynn back to herself. Although she had her color and her energy back by Monday, she just wasn't her happy self until yesterday. Today she was full of smiles--both sleeping and awake.
Unfortunately, though, her bad eating habits are back to normal, too. But I'll take that any day over seeing her so sick--and you never know if over the next week of antibiotics she'll figure things out. The doctors and therapists still have a few tricks up their sleeves.
On the upside, she's actually breathing better than before. I thought the three days back on the vent would have damaged her lungs or something, but she's actually down to .1 Liter and only 50-60% oxygen (she used to be .2 Liter and 100% oxygen). The .1 Liter is as low as the machine goes, so when she gets to 21% oxygen (room air) we'll be able to get off all breathing support! Although I doubt that will happen before we go home, we'll likely not have to be on the home oxygen for more than a month or so.
One day closer . . .
One day closer . . .
