I just read an interesting article by Julie Beck titled, "Teaching the Doctrine of the Family." She says, "Many youth also have insufficient and underdeveloped social skills, which are an impediment to forming eternal families. They are increasingly adept at talking to someone 50 miles (80 km) away and less able to carry on conversations with people in the same room. That makes it difficult for them to socialize with each other."
Just an interesting note considering the recent topic.
2011Res: To Matt: I love (and have always loved) your air of confidence. To my girls: yesterday (it's only 7 AM as I type this today) I savored your laughs. Brynn, you laugh more and more--especially as we're teaching you how to jump. And Heidi, you laugh at the most mundane things but it successfully distracts an entire Gospel Doctrine class. Oh how I love to hear both of your laughs! Dear Mr H: today I made you a warm breakfast because I love you.
PS If you have important feedback about this whole home schooling thing--even if you disagree--I am ALL ears. I am still learning and researching here, too.
